Wade V. Davies

Mr. Davies, who has been with the firm since his first year at the University of Tennessee College of Law, graduated first in his law school class in 1993. He became a partner at the firm in January 1999. Today he serves as the firm's managing partner.

Mr. Davies earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Pomona College in Claremont, California.

In his criminal defense practice Mr. Davies represents individuals at both the trial and appellate levels. His practice ranges from state court cases to the most complex federal matters. His civil practice includes an emphasis on representing individuals in litigation against the state and federal government and agencies. Mr. Davies represents doctors and other health care providers in criminal, civil and administrative cases. He has served as an expert witness on the standards for defense counsel in criminal cases.

Mr. Davies is named in The Best Lawyers in America. He is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Knoxville Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has been named a Master of the Bench of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court.

He has been elected to serve as Secretary of the Knoxville Bar Association in 2011 after having served a full term on the KBA Board of Governors. Mr. Davies has served two terms on the Board of Directors of TACDL. He is the chair of the TACDL Amicus Curiae committee, authoring briefs on critical legal issues. He has been chosen to write questions for the Tennessee Bar Examination. Mr. Davies was recently appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court to serve on the Board of Professional Responsibility.
